Dear Future Angela,
As you pause to read this letter at the end of your 12-month journey with the Amahoro Coalition Climate Works Fellowship, take a deep breath and look back to October 2026—the moment this chapter truly began.
Remember the days spent balancing late-night application forms, fine-tuning impact metrics, managing last-mile clean energy supply chains at Nelatah Enterprise, advancing your online Master of Leadership & Management at Thunderbird, and caring for your three wonderful children. You entered this fellowship not just as an individual fellow, but as a mother, entrepreneur, and community leader carrying a bold vision for clean energy access and economic independence across West Africa.
When you began this fellowship, you set out with very clear, purposeful goals. As you reflect on your experience today, I hope you can celebrate having achieved them:
Scaling Mama Solar & Last-Mile Distribution: You sought to break down the barriers of high upfront hardware costs and tricky logistics to reach flood-prone, off-grid communities like Aguleri and Atani. I hope Mama Solar has expanded its footprint, lighting up hundreds more households with reliable solar lanterns and rechargeable tech, while bringing clean, safe light to market stalls and family homes.
Empowering Women Micro-Entrepreneurs: Your vision was never just about technology—it was about people. You set out to build structured capacity-building programs, training and mentoring local women and market vendors to achieve financial autonomy. I hope the networks of women leaders you coached have grown into thriving, resilient business owners within their communities.
Building Strategic Partnerships & Institutional Support: You aimed to leverage the Amahoro Coalition ecosystem to connect with global climate networks, trade associations, and community leaders. I hope you forged lasting collaborations, gained mentorship, and secured the working capital and grant funding needed to scale your operations sustainably.
Growing as an Agile, Tech-Driven Leader: You brought together your background in economics, data analytics, and global management with real-world social entrepreneurship. I hope this fellowship deepened your strategic leadership skills, expanded your governance frameworks, and gave you the platform to advocate for inclusive climate solutions on international stages.
Looking back, every challenge—from navigating tight inventory margins to managing complex last-mile logistics—was a stepping stone that sharpened your resolve.
As you step forward beyond this fellowship—whether expanding your clean energy enterprise, advancing your agribusiness innovations at Ebby Agro, or taking on new global leadership milestones—never forget the grassroots passion that started it all. Continue to lead with empathy, quantitative precision, and unshakeable purpose.
You set out to create meaningful, lasting change, and you did. Be proud of how far you have come.
With pride and determination,
Angela Chidiebele Onyechi
