Hey you, happy birthday. I know you probably forgot you wrote this letter, hopefully so it will be a nice surprise haha. Well I just wanted to remind you to never give up on your dreams. You're probably in med school now, hopefully a really prestigious one like you really wanted. I know things can seem tough sometimes but the real test is whether or not you keep moving and pushing forward. You can do anything you set your mind to, you proved that when you moved 3,000 miles away from everyone you knew and started a new life for yourself. You were able to get into every school you applied to and, after you adjusted, you were able to do quite well, even when your classes seemed impossible. I also want to remind you to be yourself. You have greatly improved your confidence but you still currently get nervous when you're around people who you want to like you. Just be yourself!!! putting on an act is exhausting and they'll never be your true friends unless they know who you really are. You're an amazing person, Amanda. You have a lot of people who love you. What are you afraid of?
