Airport, Hong Kong

It's been a while since I've written to you, hasn't it? Don't expect any apologies for the lapses in my writing. It just means that your permanence in my memory has slowly been waning. That's good, isn't it? Now don't go bringing out the expensive china and throwing parties yet, you're still on my mind- unfortunately. A lot has happened ever since my last letter, I've been to Japan, and now I'm in Hong Kong! I will spare you the details of my trips and the emotions that I felt since you don't deserve that knowledge anymore. And frankly, I think you would not care anyway. I'm saving those words for someone far more important, for someone more... permanent. Someone more consistent. Someone far more warm than your Alaskan aura. Before I end this paragraph, I would like to inform you how possible it is that I wouldn't get to finish this 50-letter project, for the reason that I am slowly losing interest in writing to you. In wasting my words, on you. I do, however, intend to keep writing these letters until I get all of you out of my system. To write you until you are no longer part of my being. I don't know about you, but I am excited to un-know you. [Cue Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind's ost.]

It's amazing how frequent the rain comes nowadays, and I am reminded of your absence less and less. The beauty in repetition.
