Hello Jess: so you probably aren't expecting this letter, because you'll have forgotten all about it and how you ever wrote it...
but this is you.
And I'm writing to remind you of your hopes and dreams from when you were 16 years old, and so you take a moment to step back and see where you are now.
I'm assuming you went to university to study Spanish and German - it's not as if there's anything else you love with the same burning passion as languages. But I wonder what uni you went to. I know you liked Bristol when you first looked round, you know. Did you end up there? Or somewhere else? How was your year abroad? I know that currently I expect it to be one of the best years of my life...I s'pose you'll know.
Have you fulfilled your dream of living in Berlin someday? I love that city. And I know you do. Because I am you.
And travel...how could we forget? 16 year old you has dreams of travelling round the world...particularly Europe. Because, let's be honest; Europe has to be the best continent. Not that we should have favourites. So, did you end up travelling round Eastern Europe? Scandinavia? All those countries you wanted to visit - Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Czech Republic....the list goes on. And Canada? The USA? Mexico? (I wonder whether you still feel the need to pronounce 'México' the Spanish way?)

Well, wherever you are, I just hope you're happy and haven't given up on any of the things you love and value. Travel. Languages. Family. Y'know. Things that make life worth living. I just hope you're living life to the full and seizing every moment. Love 16 year old you. :)
